I shall be presenting the argument of my book Why We Disagree About Climate at a seminar at Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment, 75 George Street, Oxford, on Tuesday 24 November at 5pm.

I am speaking at the annual Danish Ethnography Conference ’In climate symbols’ on Friday 20 November at the University of Aarhus – ‘Why we disagree about climate change: four myths, four meanings’.

(October) RETHINK: contemporary art and climate change:  Mike Hulme’s essay Learning to accept re-created climates contributes to a new on-line forum where debaters from the all over the world engage with climate change, art and culture.  The writers are artists, philosophers, scientists, politicians, indigenes and business people with different views on how climate change affects the way we live and view the world.  The debaters explore how climate change leads to new understandings and definitions of some of these established domains, and how they interfere with one and another.  Have a look at my contribution under the theme of Nature and poke around in the variety of interesting articles and contribute with your opinion and your view on climate change and its different aspects of life.

(27 October)  As part of their Great Debate Mike Hulme is interviewed by Reuters UK - discussing climate change and the Copenhagen negotiations.

(23 October)  New York Times energy-environment blog interviews Mike Hulme on the idea of global climate engineering and how it relates to the arguments in his book Why We Disagree About Climate Change.

I shall be debating the proposition ‘Do science and economics support government action on climate change?‘ with Michael Grubb, Lord Nigel Lawson and Fred Singer at the Insitute of Economic Affairs on Monday 23 November 2009.  This event at the Insitute of Directors is now sold out.
